Gorna Banya is another town with great mineral water. It is also on the western side of Sofia, like Bankya. The water here is bottled and sold in stores like the Bankya water. As usual, the locals can collect the water for free at the water station. The building attached to the water station might have been an old bath and is in total negligence now, but the gift of natural mineral water doesn’t need any decoration. People in the long queues at the water station would each bring several big jars. When they saw me with just a small bottle, they told me that I could fill it at the fountain in the park nearby without having to wait in line for too long. The park next to the water station provided many kinds of recreational facilities for the locals. I tasted the water at the fountain. The water was soothing and not too warm. It would be a bit hard for me to tell apart the Gorna Banya and Bankya water, as they are both mild, except perhaps the Gorna Banya water’s soothing effect is immediate, while the Bankya water’s calming effect grows stronger as time passes, or it has a stronger after-effect than the Gorna Banya water. In comparison, the Sofia water tastes slightly sweet, while the Rupite water has the strongest and most distinct taste.
