Full Description
The Velcro Mask is virtually two masks sewn together and are separable by unstrapping the Velcro. The purpose of this mask is to speak clearly and be understood when conversing with other people. This is completed through the thin-mesh fabric layer of the mask that allows for easier communication when the Velcro is unstrapped. Once the user is finished conversing, the unstrapped portion of the mask will be flipped and strapped back to the Velcro to maximize the individuals protection from Covid-19.
The mask construction process began by cutting a mouth-sized hole in the middle and using a thin-mesh layer of fabric to cover the individuals mouth and provides them the ability to speak clearer at the same time. The mesh layer was taken from one of the WCU masks provided to the students from the school. This layer was sewn onto the back of the mask on the mouth of the user to hide the stitching and make the design look better. The initial design of the mask began with the idea of using it from side to side with the Velcro. This was quickly dropped for the single strip of Velcro on the top piece of the mask and when it is unstrapped it will dangle freely.
New design ideas can be implemented into the mask to make it more interesting and entertaining. One of our new products coming out soon is the Velcro mask that has a smile on the front and a tongue sticking out when the mask is unstrapped.
