Brief Product Description
We originally noticed an issue that affects all people who drive and carry passengers (especially those in the ride sharing industry) and in the middle of this pandemic it could be revolutionary. We had the idea of creating a plexiglass divider that will separate the front passengers from the rear passengers thus maintaining social distancing standards. This divider will be capable of fitting in various types of cars to reduce production costs and customer confusion on if it will fit in their vehicle. The product will include a variety of pieces in order to easily attach this product to either the headliner, floor, or b-pillars of a car. The estimated retail cost per unit will be around $50.00

Full Description
We originally noticed an issue that affects all people who drive and carry passengers (especially those in the ride sharing industry) and in the middle of this pandemic it could be revolutionary. We had the idea of creating a plexiglass divider that will separate the front passengers from the rear passengers thus maintaining social distancing standards. This divider will be capable of fitting in various types of cars to reduce production costs and customer confusion on if it will fit in their vehicle. The plexiglass used for the divider is lightly tinted to reduce glare from the sun and other light sources and also to add a sense of privacy. The product will include a multitude of plastic sliders so the plexiglass sheets can easily be adjusted to the proper width for the vehicle it is being installed into. These sliders can be mounted on the headliner, floor, or b-pillar (vertical structural support directly behind the front doors on most vehicles) depending on the interior design of the vehicle. The estimated retail cost per unit will be around $50.00. There are a few initial flaws with the product prototype such as that it will be difficult to put into convertibles considering most don’t have a b-pillar and 2-door cars with back seats due to how small the entrance to the back is.

This is a great product for anyone that drives the public for a living. It would also be pretty handy for individuals in professional settings where driving to lunch or something like that happens frequently. I would recommend this product as my car does not have much room in it and and keeping 6 feet apart is impossible. Very nice design!

I feel like if you were a Uber or Lyft driver, this would be very useful since you’ll be picking up strangers from very different locations.
