Brief Product Description
The Covid Mask Reminder System (CMRS) is designed to be placed at the entrances of public buildings where individuals may have trouble remembering to wear their masks. The CMRS will register when a person walks in front of it, beep to get their attention, and display a message to remind them that a mask is required inside the establishment. It comes with default settings preprogrammed on the microprocessor as well as a USB power cable and a 120V wall adapter.
See video link for a demonstration of the CMRS.

Full Description
- The Covid Mask Reminder System (CMRS) consists of an intricate electrical circuit as well as a sturdy container to house the electronics. When an individual walks in front of the CMRS, the system is triggered, and the individual is reminded to put on their mask. The trigger is adjustable between 1 inch up to around 9 feet for this model. The alert pattern is also adjustable but is by default set to 5 quick beeps. The LEDs and LCD screen both come on when triggered and the LCD’s message is adjustable as well. All these, as well as the timing, can be adjusted through the default program on microprocessor.
- The container for the CMRS is constructed out of ¼ inch plywood to provide a durable and safe housing for the sensitive electronic components. The dimensions of the container are 8 inches in length, 4 inches in width, and a thickness of 3 ¾ inches. These are held together by wood adhesive and electrical tape. The back of the container has a 5/8 inch diameter hole drilled into the back plate to allow the power cable to be inserted and removed hassle free. On the bottom of the back plate are three hinges, and on the top is a latch to allow the electrical components to be adjusted or reprogrammed if desired.
- The electrical components for the CMRS consist of an Arduino board, an LCD display, a ping sensor, two red LEDs, two 220 ohm resistors, a 10000 ohm potentiometer, and a piezo buzzer. The ping sensor is constantly monitoring if an individual walks in front of it, if one does, it triggers. This trigger prints a message to the LCD screen, turns the LEDs on, and starts the buzzer alert. After the buzzer is done, the system holds the message and lights on to give the individual time to read the message, then resets for the next individual. The distance required to set it off, the timing of the components, the pattern of the alert, and the message of the display can all be adjusted in the code on the Arduino (See manual for the original Arduino code). Changing the code can break the program and should only be done by a professional (Visit your local CMRS dealer near you!). Always unplug the device before adjusting the electrical components as well for fear of electrocution.

Such a great idea! I see people who forget to put their masks on. Heck, I forget to put my mask on sometimes too. This product is so useful.
William Wright –
I really like the idea of this product. Any places that offer public services would benefit from this product, although the mass manufactured products could be reduced in size to save addition additional costs for the container.
Vincent Petruccelli –
This product would be great for smaller stores that don’t have the capacity to have an employee check for mask usage at entrances. It also could be repurposed to remind customers of other things after covid is a thing of the past, such as sales and rewards programs.
Brooke Hughes –
This will help a lot of business to remind people to wear masks
Fisher Mitchell –
I tend to be forgetful so this can be a great help
Corbin Richardson –

Noah Sitton –
great reminder to have to put on a mask before entering a building
Wesley Jolly –
Very neat product. I cant think of how many times ive forgotten to wear a mask when going into somewhere. I could see this being a real product if we don’t get a vaccine any time soon.

I think this product is very useful and can help a lot of people who don’t where there mask. I also see a lot of potential for this product, for example: being used in the entrances of store, airports, subways, etc. And it’s all of this for a very reasonable price.
