Full Description
- The device is assembled with an Arduino Kit provided by the university, a plastic container to house the technology, and a 3D printed part used to house the sensor. The timer in the device is programmed to count down from 25 seconds; while counting down, a green LED located on top of the 3D printed part will flash for each second. Once the timer reaches the 25th second, a tune will play and a red LED next to the green one will light up, letting you know it is time to finish washing your hands.
- The product can come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors, and the countdown can be changed; it can be customized to match any aesthetic or image one desires. There are many places that a device like this would be beneficial to have; In hospitals, this would be incredibly useful for Surgeons, as they have to be very thorough with the cleansing process; in restaurants, as most dishes require very specific cooking times; daycares, as children are very susceptible to illnesses; senior residence homes, as the elderly are also susceptible to many illnesses - really anywhere with a sink.

I really like this idea. I bet a good majority of people do not wash their hands according to the CDC guidelines and this would provide a great way to ensure it. I would recommend it and personally really enjoy the tone it plays when you are done washing.

This is a wonderful product to keep track of time while washing your hands, I know I have a hard time doing the 2 birthday songs back to back to know how long I have been washing my hands but this is a lot easier than that and is very well made!

Looks promising. I see a lot of potential in this prototype. It really stands out compared to other products out there that serve this purpose. The idea of customizing individual products makes this product fit more perfectly with different environments like hospitals, restaurants, nursing homes, etc.
